By Keith Holden: Arthur George Holden, born Kenninghall, Norfolk 23 May 1892. Educated Morley Memorial School and Hingham Grammar School. Shorthand clerk and telegraphist, Walton on Naze. Joined Royal Engineer Regiment (Signals Unit) 1916. Promoted to CQMS (Company Quartermaster Sargeant). Reverted to Corporal to join Mounted Signals Unit in France, was attached to the Royal Field Artillery 1917. He was married 20 Sept. 1920 to Ruby Emily Fox at Walton on Naze. Their first home was at East Dereham, then Cambridge where AG. Holden was a clerical officer with the Post Office. During WW2 he was a Major with the Home Guard and was transferred to Dollis Hill (London) Training School in 1947. He died of leukemia 3 November 1949 at Stanmore, Middlesex, and is buried at Harrow Weald Cemetery, London, England.
